Delighted to announce that our Chapter donated clothing and 263 pounds of food to the ECHO Food Pantry this afternoon. United in our efforts, we’re making a meaningful impact in our community.

Today, at the open installation of the Grand Lodge of Virginia, our brothers surprised Dad Matt with a presentation. The newly installed 180th Grand Master received his certificate as an Honorary Member of Woodlawn Chapter.

Today is October 13. It marks the day in 1307 when:

• King Philip IV of France ordered the arrest of all Knights Templar and seized their property.

• The Grand Master of the Order, Jacques de Molay, was imprisoned along with several other high-ranking members. Their trial is often described as a farce.

The Templars were charged with heresy, worship of false idols, and other crimes against the Church. Many were tortured until they confessed to their supposed crimes.

Refusing to capitulate, Jacques de Molay did not confess, and Philip reportedly ordered him burned at the stake.

In 2007, the Vatican issued a proclamation acknowledging the Templars’ innocence of the alleged crimes.

We had a great time at the Prospect Night at Dave & Buster’s in Springfield Mall. The event was fun with amazing advisors and enthusiastic members. Ashburn Chapter provided incredible support! Looking forward to the next one!

What an incredible night for Woodlawn at this year’s banquet during Conclave!

First, we’re proud to announce that Jacob was elected and installed as Deputy SMC — a historic moment as it was the first contested election in years, and he won quite convincingly!

Second, Jacob has once again achieved a major milestone — earning the prestigious title of State RD!

Third, our Chapter proudly reclaimed the Galloping Gavel — a spirited competition among Virginia DeMolay chapters to see which chapter can travel the farthest distance to attend Conclave. Points are awarded based on the number of DeMolays and advisors traveling multiplied by the miles traveled. We’re proud to have had seven members—Nicklas, Esteban, Leo, Thomas, Mikey, Hammie, and Jacob—representing Woodlawn so well!

And last but not least, Hammie was honored as the 2025 DeMolay of the Year by the Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Virginia!

Woodlawn has truly had a night to remember, and we couldn’t be prouder of what our boys have accomplished. Congratulations to all — here’s to many more successes ahead!

Virginia DeMolay held its annual spring quarterly meeting and Grand Master’s Class in Luray, Virginia on June 7, 2025. The day’s events included ritual competitions, a business meeting, dinner, and a candidate induction ceremony in honor of the Grand Master of Masons in Virginia. As in previous years, the event culminated with a presentation of the DeMolay Degree inside Luray Caverns.

President Harry S. Truman dedicated the George Washington statue, funded by the Order of DeMolay, on February 22, 1950. Fast-forward 75 years, and we celebrated a special rededication led by Illustrious Brother Clifton Truman Daniel, President Truman’s grandson. We’re incredibly proud that Woodlawn Chapter was part of this memorable occasion! (2/22/25)
